Andrew + Maissa Engagement [Mountain Winery]

My wife and I have been close friends with Maissa and Andrew for over a decade now.  We've literally known them since they were in High School.  Andrew and I were roommates back in my single days in San Jose.  I've seen them start dating, break up, and start dating again.

To see them engaged and getting ready for their wedding day really melts my heart.  When you see two people, obviously meant for each other, you want nothing but the best for them.  It was truly an honor to be able to shoot their engagement photos at the lovely Mountain Winery in Saratoga.  This was the first wedding that I absolutely did not want to be the wedding day photographer for; I will instead be one of the groomsmen, and to me that is much more important.

Congratulations to Andrew & Maissa, may your love for each other grow everyday!

Phil + Malia Wedding [THE Hideout]

I first met Phil back when I used to work in Sales with him.  In fact during my interview with the company, I shared about my love for my wife, and my passion for Wedding Photography.  He pulled me aside afterwards and told me that he is engaged, and looking for a photographer.

I then met Malia some weeks after that discussion, and it was obvious to me why he had fallen in love with her.  Malia was warm, sweet, and engaging in our first meeting.  Watching Phil & Malia together is like watching a couple who had been best friends for 50 years.  Their love and friendship was undeniable, and I was honored that they chose me to photograph their wedding.

I cannot think of a better venue to photograph a wedding than THE Hideout at Kirkwood.  The owners Tom & BJ, along with their two sons, were the perfect hosts.  They have meticulously maintained their beautiful property, and made sure we had everything that we needed.

Lastly, a special thanks to Heather, owner of All Set, for doing a fabulous job coordinating the wedding.  I think I speak for all the vendors when I say that Heather and her team delivered the most well organized and flawless minute to minute schedule I have ever seen!

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Knezevich!  These photos are but a glimpse into the amazing fun you gave us that glorious weekend in the woods.

Tim + Melissa Wedding

Back when Tim & Melissa chose me as their wedding photographer, I knew that we would be seeing a lot of each other.  It started off with their engagement photo session in San Francisco.

Since then I can truly say that I have been blessed to be able to get to know both Tim and Melissa better.  I got to spend most of the day with Melissa especially; beginning with her getting ready alongside her bridesmaids, to riding in the limo with her on the way to the church, and then finally seeing them off at the end of the night.  By then she had memorized all of my posing tips that I would constantly yell out (chin up, point your knee, shift your hips, etc.).  When they got into the limo to drive off to their honeymoon, I actually felt sad that my job as their wedding photographer was done and that I wouldn't be spending as much time with them taking photos.  For those of you that know them, you understand why it is easy to get attached and would want to be around them.

They are truly an amazing couple, and their love for each other radiates with every interaction, every hug, every dance, and every laugh.  Even though it rained that day, the ceremony went smoothly, and the reception was spectacular. The DJ kept everyone sweating on the dance floor with hit song after hit song!  Thank you to all the vendors, friends, family, volunteers that helped make everything come together for Tim and Melissa's wedding day.

Tim + Melissa Engagement

I have had the pleasure of knowing both Tim and Melissa for some years now, and I was ecstatic when Tim FINALLY popped the magical question.  I was honored when they chose me to be their wedding photographer, and it has been a blast working with them throughout their engagement.

For this engagement session we met at Lands End in San Francisco on a sunny but very windy day.  We had postponed the photo shoot due to two consecutive weeks of rain.  We also met the next day at the Embarcadero to get some beautiful shots of San Francisco Bay Bridge.  Tim and Melissa are obviously deep in love, and keep each other laughing and smiling.  It was a joy to just be around them and to document their love for each other.

I look forward to photographing their wedding on April 9th!

On Saturday March 12, thousands of women from all around the Bay Area met at the Santa Clara Convention Center to hear powerful keynote speakers and live musical entertainment.  This was a free event hosted by the Bay Area Christian Church for women of all agents and I was honored to be able to document it by providing event photography.

2016 International Women's Day

Today is International Women's Day, and in the spirit of this day I'd like to first honor the women in my life who have helped make me the man I am today.   Starting off with my Mom who somehow put up with me even during my rambunctious teen years, and my financially deficient college years; who now is still the most loving, caring, and compassionate woman that I know.  I had the privilege of growing up with three amazing sisters, Bessie, Charlene, and Beverly.  Now this was not always a privilege for me, as I was picked on and ganged up  on many times!  But I credit my sisters for teaching me how to respect women, and how to even be in touch with my feminine side without feeling less of a man.

And finally, my wife of almost 5 years is the most incredible, beautiful, and strong woman that I know.  She makes me strong, and complements all my weaknesses (which are many).  Thankfully my wife was raised by an amazing woman, my mother-in-law Terrie Williams.  My wife also has an awesome twin Angelica, an older sister Prelle, and a younger Krystal.  And of course I can't ever forget all the amazing Aunties that I have all around the world!

I'd like to honor her, and all the women in this world that help to make this a better place.  If it were left up to men, this world would have been completely destroyed by now, so thank you women for keeping us boneheaded men in check.

Raquan + Luci Proposal

On the morning of Saturday, February 20, 2016, I had the honor and the pleasure of documenting a momentous occasion.  My dear friend Raquan proposed to his girlfriend Luci, right in the middle of Ocean Beach, in San Francisco.

As a wedding photographer, I have documented special moments between a husband and wife before, and have even shot engagement sessions for couples planning on getting married.  But this was the first time that I got to document a guy getting on one knee, and proposing to his unsuspecting girlfriend.  It was a beautiful moment that he allowed me to share in, and I will never forget it.

I was also able to provide them same-day edits; as I created a musical slideshow with their photos to be presented later that day at their engagement party.  I literally sat in my car and imported the photos into Lightroom, and edited the 25 best shots.  I then had to drive down to the engagement party, while my wife created the slideshow in iPhoto.

I look forward to being their wedding photographer, and producing a same-day edit of the wedding ceremony.  As a professional photographer, I love being able to build long lasting relationships with my clients.  With this couple I have already been able to provide them with engagement photos, soon there will be wedding photography, and not to mention their baby boy is due any week now, so I will provide newborn photography as well.
